Frederick Adam Rubin

Frederick Ruben represents the United Arab Emirates at the 2026 World Barista Championship in Panama City, where he finished third in the final — the first world podium for the United Arab Emirates. The 2026 UAE Barista Champion works at Benchmark Coffee in Sharjah and has competed nationally since 2022. Originally from Indonesia, he built part of his career at Blacksmith Coffee in Abu Dhabi before joining Benchmark. Before coffee, he competed professionally in taekwondo. He describes competition as a way to explore unfamiliar ideas and techniques, and credits the Benchmark and Archers Coffee teams, producers and the people around him for supporting his world championship campaign.
